Bagang denies allegations

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Reacting to a press statement by a BJP unit published on Aug 21 regarding discontinuation of Seppa-Chayangtajo NEC road and allegations of corruption, local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Health & Family Welfare and Fisheries Karya Bagang has termed it as concocted as she called for thorough probe.

She further said enquiry committee to unearth the alleged fund embezzlement may be constituted while adding that “I shall too approach the concern authority to set up SIT to enquire the matter thoroughly and demand punishment to the wrongdoers, if any, immediately”.

She urged the East Kameng District BJP Unit to provide evidence to substantiate their claims.

“On failure to provide foolproof evidence, I shall be bound to file defamation case... It is a politically motivated statement and is creating disgrace to my reputation” she said. She said that, she too is “saddened by stoppage of on-going Seppa- Chayangtajo NEC road” and is trying all efforts to complete the mega project.

GWS chagrined over police’s failure

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Galo Welfare Society (GWS) expressed strong disappointment over police failure to make any headway in Kali Bulo death case even after 20 days of the incident.

The society appealed to the concern district administration and police to act swiftly to arrest the murderer within this month failing which it threatened to mount pressure on them.

An example of quality work

DAPORIJO, Aug 22: At a time when there is a hue and cry regarding alleged misuse of Govt schemes, the quality construction of CC steps for villagers at Dulom village has become an example for others in proper implementation of BRGF schemes in Upper Subansiri district. The CC project was implemented by Krimi Dulom, Gram Chairperson (GPC) with the cooperation of other gram members of Sigin segments.

All Anchal level and Gram level PRI members in Upper Subansiri district may take in as an example of quality works and introspect whether the funds released for village development under BRGF schemes have been utilised properly.

In Panchayat segments such schemes have been provided but there is no sign of work at site and Govt. fund is misused by people with vested interests only.

Contractors seek quality work

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has urged the Executive Engineer (Highway Division) to supervise contractors who are executing works at Papu Nallah area instead of blaming the contractors for not maintaining quality works. Due to slow progress of the work, traffic movement of Naharlagun area have been badly affected. The quality of ongoing RCC works at Bank Tinali area in Itanagar is not proper either and filling of sand gravel in between C- sector and Barapani National Highway point is also not good as sand gravel is washed out few days after filling of materials, it said. Instead of meaningless expenditure of public money, the department should have proper planning and funds judiciously used, the association said.

AACWA further urged the state government to create the post of Superintending of Police (Traffic) for Capital Complex to regulate and ease the traffic in the twin Capital city. Due to non-implementation of traffic rules in twin Capital towns, the traffic movements are haphazard, it said. It further said that Capital administration and municipality should adopt clear cut policies for beautification of Capital region, it added.

The association further called on the Capital administration to carry out drives to check the road worthiness of various commercial cars, autos and trekkers for the safety of the passengers.

Cleanliness drive at NERIST NSS volunteers

NIRJULI, Aug 22: Around 200 volunteers including faculty members under the initiatives of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of NERIST have conducted a cleanliness drive in the academic block and its adjoining areas of the NERIST campus today.

In a humble attempt to the pursuit of a greener tomorrow, the volunteers also planted around 50 saplings of multipurpose tree species such as Morus alba (mulberry), Artocarpus heterophyllus (kathal), Melia azadirach (ghor neem), Bauhinia spp., Terminalia bellerica (bahera) in the NERIST Boys’ Hostel campus. The presence of Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. B. Singh during the social service enhanced the zeal of the volunteers.

GSU seeks BSNL tower at Tamaripa

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The Galo Students' Union in a memorandum to the BSNL general manager has appealed him to take immediate steps for installation of mobile tower at Tamaripa and electricity connection to the BSNL towers at Maro and Baririjo.

In its memorandum the GSU informed that while rest of the world is enjoying telecom and internet facilities, the people of Tamaripa, Tasidoni, Lipu, Tode, Dula, Korarijo, Tapi, Luchi and Yatek-Ripa villages under Maro circle in Upper Subansiri district are still deprived of telecommunication services.

The Union further said the existing microwave BSNL towers at Maro and Baririjo are also found to be irregular in providing much needed services due to lack of electricity connection. The generator sets used for power supply are in shambles, the Union added.

Meanwhile, the GSU informed that responding to the demands, BSNL GM assured to look into the feasibility and other factors for establishment of a BSNL tower at Tamaripa. The Union was also informed that BSNL towers at Maro and Baririjo have been made functional.

Free health camp

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: A free health camp was organised by All Pappu Valley Youth Welfare Association (APVYWA) in collaboration with Health Department at Palin Sub-Centre under Pijerang Circle yesterday.

The team of doctors comprising Dr. L. Ete, MD, Dr. H Tado, MO, Dr. T. Tagia, Sr. Dental Surgeon and S. Chakraborty conducted the health camp.

Many patients, 300 in number suffering from various ailments were treated in the camp and medicines distributed free of cost.

Mosquito nets were also distributed among the patients and villagers.

APVYWA has appealed the district health society for timely supply of essential medicines in all the sub-centres of Pijerang circles.

Unions resents over shortage of teacher

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The All Upper Subansiri District Students’ Union (AUSDSU), All Tagin Students’ Union (ATSU) and All Nyishi Students’ Union Upper Subansiri unit (ANSU-USU) have expressed resentment over the transfer of a junior teacher from Upper Subansiri to Tawang district saying that the district is already reeling under acute shortage of teachers in the district. The union has given a representation to the education secretary to retain the JT in the district. The district is already facing shortage of teachers, the transfer will further add to the problems of the students, it said in its representation adding they will be compelled to launch democratic movement till the demand is met.

Do not harass officers, AAYA LS unit

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The All Arunachal Youth Association Lower Subansiri unit has requested all organisations and individuals not to harass the officers of the Ziro Electrical division. The AAYA unit stated that it found the work of the department to be satisfactory after visiting the sites where electrical utilities have been shifted along the Right of Way of the Trans-Arunachal Highway stretch from Potin to Godak. The allegations of fund embezzlement and misappropriation of public money against the Ziro Electrical division is unfounded, it claimed.

Org demand inquiry

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Claiming that road maintenance and renovation works worth Rs.50 lakhs under Revised Estimate 2014-15 at Bomdila township has not been executed, the All Arunachal Pradesh Border Students Union (APBSU) has demanded for constituting a committee to find out the facts behind the said works. The union queried that where was the fund used as no maintenance work was carried out at Bomdila.

Legal awareness prog for GBs

YINGKIONG, Aug 22: Upper Siang District Legal Services Authority conducted a legal awareness camp for Gaon Buras (GBs) at the District Court here today.

Judicial Magistrate (first class) cum Civil Judge (Jr Divn) Habung Tangu, Advocates Akoying Tekseng, Apang Jongkey and Dubom Tekseng highlighted on various Acts and Laws, such as Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice Regulation Act 1945 and Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme 2011, Right to Information Act 2005, Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Compensation Act 1985 and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and Juvenile Justice Act respectively.

While explaining in detail about Administration of Justice Regulation Act 1945, Habung distinguished civil and criminal cases and told about the limitation of GBs in settling disputes, particularly criminal cases.

President of Upper Siang Gaon Bura Association Akkong Libang and HGB of Simong village Tagin Litin requested the District Legal Services Authority to conduct such legal awareness camp in circles, sub-divisions for the benefits of the Gaon Buras from time to time.

Nacho deprived of basic facilities

DAPORIJO, Aug 22: The Rural Women Welfare Society (RWWS), Nacho has expressed concern over the lack of basic facilities in Nacho area.

The Society alleged that villagers under Nacho have been facing various health problems due to non-availability of doctors and other medical staffs in the community health centre for last one year.

The Society further said that many Govt employees are unwilling to serve in their posting places in Nacho division and are staying in their native places.

Meanwhile, the Society informed that the people of the area have been deprived of telecommunication service as the BSNL fails to provide its network even after the installation of a BSNL tower. The Society appealed to the higher authority to look into the problems being faced by the people of Nacho at the earliest.

Awareness programme on cooperative sector

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: An awareness programme on Cooperative Sector was organised today at Nafra, West Kameng.

The programme organised by EAC, Nafra and Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Bomdila witnessed the participation of around 100 members from both Cooperative and non-Cooperatives.

Orientation training on handling of GPS machine

AALO, Aug 22: West Siang district agriculture department has conducted one-day orientation training for the officers and field functionaries on handling of GPS machine and its application in soil sampling at DAO office here on Aug 19.

Speaking on the occasion District Agriculture Officer, Tomi Basar underlined the importance of proper and scientific method of soil sampling. He urged the participants to gain knowledge of the latest technology for its systematic application in the field conditions. Unlike conventional methods of soil sampling, emphasis should be given on scientific approach in order to draw a definite Soil Fertility Map, Basar said.

The resource persons Nyage Loya, ADO Marketing, Yompe Ado ADO (Hq) and Jarny Yomcha ADO (PP) explained about the technique of handling GPS machine to the participants and its importance in scientific soil sampling techniques. They also conducted demonstration on the methodologies of soil sampling, soil mapping, quartering and packaging of collected samples. DIPRO

We believe, for the best interest and over all development of all, the ANSU should be more forward looking and broad minded and withdraw their opposition to selection of Pasighat as a Smart City, CEYA in a press release said.

It should, in fact, be a matter of pride and honour that a town of ours has atleast fulfilled all the pre-requisite criteria for a Smart City, the release added.

Indian team returns empty-handed from Japan

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Indian Wado-Kai Karate team returned empty-handed from Wado Kai World Karate-Do Championship 2015 held in Nagoya, Japan from August 13 to 18.

Six players from Arunachal Wado-Kai Karate Do Association represented the country in the championship.

Barring Dari Lokam, none of the players from the state could cross the first round hurdle, informed India Team Coach Yarda Niki.

Host Japan grabbed most medals at the championship, he added.

The person, who drowned in Yamne River on August 20, was a police personnel and on a disaster management duty from Yingkiong to Mariyang. He drowned after accidentally slipping into the Yamne River at Lagru. BJP demands CM’s resignation on “moral ground” as HC directs CBI probe

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The Gauhati High Court directive to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the alleged allegations of corruption against Arunachal Pradesh chief minister has come as an icing on the cake for the state BJP party which is already heading its Jan Andolan Committee (JAC) demanding Chief Minister Nabam Tuki ouster from his post.

The party today welcomed the Gauhati High Court’s judgment and demanded that the CM resigns on moral ground.

“At this juncture, it would be best that the CM owns up moral responsibility and steps down from his post so that CBI is given free hand to enquire into the case,” said the party president Tai Tagak addressing media persons at Press Club here this evening.

“Till he resigns, the investigation can never be free and fair”, he said adding that his party is for zero tolerance against corruption.

Leader of opposition Tamiyo Taga called the judgment a step towards bringing an end to corruption.

“Had the PIL continued and not withdrawn by the petitioner, Mr Tuki could never have reached where he is now,” he said. The PIL was withdrawn but then the HC took suo moto cognizance of the case and registered it afresh.

“Because of Congress culture which practice money power, he bought his time and became CM,” he said.

“If he does not step down, we will hit the street for our demand”, he retorted adding that there is enough evidence to indict him in the case.

“In fact, his whole cabinet should resign on moral ground given the verdict,” added JAC Chairman Tame Phassang.

Gauhati High Court on Friday had directed the CBI to register a case and initiate investigation against the alleged transgression of Tuki, awarding contract works to his family members without following the norms and procedure when he was the PWD minister.

A division bench of the court comprising Chief Justice (Acting) K. Sreedhar Rao and Justice PK Saikia gave the directives to the CBI.

Allegations include questionable award of contract work worth Rs. 3 crore for construction of low-cost housing for Safai Karmachari, staff quarters for Rs. 52 lakh as well as the contract of house-keeping and catering service of Arunachal House at New Delhi and the construction of boundary wall of a Kendriya Vidyalaya for Rs.13.81 lakh.

Shortlisted WHS sites appeal for early release of grant

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: State’s twin potential World Heritage Sites located at Ziro in Lower Subansiri District and Thembang in West Kameng District have appealed the State Govt. for early release of the earmarked amount of Rs. 2 crore announced last year for carrying out preparatory ground works for the coveted tag.

The two sites had figured amongst the 55 shortlisted sites of India by UNESCO as potential World Heritage Sites. The preparatory ground works comprised carrying out awareness, sensitisation campaigns, minor physical renovation ground works and Dossier Preparation among others.

Thembang Zilla Parishad Member and core-committee member of Thembang WHS Local Consultative Committee (LCC) Jam Tsering said, “More than a year has passed since announcement of the grant by the state Govt. and we have met the concerned officials a number of times but the same is yet to be released so far. Recently we also met the Chief Secretary who directed the Secretary Art and Culture to release the grant immediately. Enthusiasm and the ground works for the coveted title have been greatly hampered due to this delay. Hence, we once again appeal the state Govt. to release the same urgently to enable the Thembang WHS LCC to work more vigorously to achieve the coveted goal”, he pleaded.

Echoing the same, Nani Tamang Jose, chairman of SMILE Ziro, a prominent Ziro-based NGO working actively in the subject matter and member of Ziro WHS Local Consultative Committee (LCC) said, “We have vigorously involved in creating awareness of the subject matter to general masses for more than two years and carried out awareness/sensitisation campaigns on number of important social occasions on voluntary basis. We felt elated when the state Govt. announced some financial grant for the purpose and hoped to work with renewed energy and vigour but this undue delay has dampened not only our spirit but that of the LCC as well”, he explained. Clearing the air, Secretary Art and Culture, Dani Salu informed that the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary had indeed cleared the file for release of the said grants. “Even the finance department has cleared the matter but it is heard presently there is no money with the treasury hence the delay”, he informed.

As announced by the state Govt. in the floor of the Legislative Assembly last year, these financial grants to state’s potential WHS sites is seen as moral boosters and kick starters to achieve the coveted WHS tags which is a rare privilege in this fast changing 21st century commercialised world. Sooner the state Govt. releases these grants, better it would be for the engine called WHS for Arunachal Pradesh.

Shift JNV to its permanent site at Gumto: Rebia

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: State Legislative Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia today inspected the ongoing construction work of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) school buildings at Gumto.

While interacting with the School Management Committee Rebia directed them to shift the JNV school which is running temporarily at Govt Higher Secondary School Doimukh campus to its permanent JNV school site at Gumto. He also directed the contractor M/s Tama Fabrication Ltd to complete civil works at the earliest. Water and power supply to school buildings have already been completed through SPA, he informed.

Rebia further informed that he had requested the School Management Committee to consider and give top priority to local children of Papum Pare district in the admission process and assured that he will take up the matter with JNV Sangathan at the earliest. The Speaker also visited Gumto Circle office and sanctioned on the spot for procurement of a new vehicle (Bolero) for the CO and assured to provide fund for construction of Community Hall at the CO office headquarter. He also requested administrative officers, PRI members, local leaders to do plantation in and around CO office and warned the people not to encroach upon the premises of the CO office.

While visiting the construction of Police Station at Gumto Check Gate, he directed the contractor and executing agency to complete the work immediately. He also requested the local people to extend all possible logistic support and cooperation for construction of State Highway to CC road from Gumto to Bage Tinali.

The Speaker also visited district headquarter, Yupia to identify available space for shifting of HoDs of all Papum Pare to Yupia and has specifically instructed all HoDs to make specific arrangement to shift their office at Yupia within two months.

JNC, APCTA hosts “Women empowerment:

issues and challenges”

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) Pasighat in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh College Teacher Association (APCTA) JNC unit has organised a UGC/CPE sponsored one-day workshop on the theme “Women Empowerment: Issues and Challenges” at the college conference hall today in honour of former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Three resource persons, Dr. Runi Tasung (MO) and Dr. Lalchand Darung (Psychiatrist), General Hospital Pasighat and Assistant Prof Dr. Putoli Langkam, Dept. of Political Science, JN College, talked at length on various Physiological, Psychological and Social problems hindering women empowerment during the technical session. They also provided suggestions to overcome the women centric health and psychological problems. More than 180 participants from Apex University, Doying Gumin College, Daying Ering College of Teacher Education, Siang Royal Academy and JNC participated in the programme. J N College Principal Tayek Talom and Vice Principal Dr. S D Choudhury attended the programme as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

In yet another programme at its Lower Campus Auditorium, JNC hosted the Inter-School and Inter-College Literary Competitions being organised by the Central Solung Festival Celebration Committee 2015. Students from as many as 40 institutions participated in the Drawing & Painting Competition divided into two groups viz Junior and Sub-junior. 89 participants from Junior Group and 44 participants from Sub-junior Group turned as the super heroes with their super deeds.

Concern on extraction and trading of Paris Polyphylla

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Expressing concern over the rampant and reckless extraction of Paris Polyphylla from the state based on a report, Arunachal Pradesh State Medicinal Plants Board (APSMPB), Chairman, Tatar Kipa has written to all the concerned authorities to check its exploitation.

In a letter to the Deputy Commissioners of West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Upper Subansiri, Kra Dadi, West Siang, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley and Anjaw, Kipa urged the DCs, SPs and DFOs to check the menace of exploitation of the rare and endangered species from the state. Kipa further requested the district administrations to take stock of the situation and coordinate with the police and forest authorities to invoke provisions of Assam Forest Regulation Vol-VII 1891 and 144 CrPc while checking the exploitation of Paris Polyphylla.

The report states that the unscientific extraction of Paris Polyphylla is taking place in broad daylight in the above mentioned districts and forest divisions, where the field functionaries of the forest department are not regulating at the check points to control this reckless extraction of this rare plant species. Paris Polyphylla is an IUCN RET listed species which needs to be checked before it is too late and is extinct from the state, added the report.

Soil and Plant health clinic at Namsai district

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Lohit under ICAR-NRC on Yak launched a series of soil and plant health clinic programmes for the farmers of Namsai district yesterday.

The four-phase programme consists of training to educate the farmers about the disease and insect pest problem, formation of farmer's club, soil and water testing, farmer-scientist interaction to eradicate the plant health problems and need based demonstration on diseases and pests, informed Dr. Debasis Sasmal, in-charge Programme Coordinator of the KVK .

The programme of the series was conducted at Chongkham village.

District Agriculture Officer P Khoisia explained the need of organic cultivation in Arunachal Pradesh while DHO Sudhir Bhide explained about different schemes of horticulture and need of soil and water testing. He emphasised on proper and timely utilisation of fertilizers.

DTO cum PD ATMA explained the importance of soil and plant health clinic to reduce the mis-utilisation of chemicals and pesticides.

Chongkham ADO G. Singh motivated the farmers for active cooperation and interaction with the scientists in the training programme.

In the technical session Ph. Chandramani Singh explained the procedures of soil collection and soil status. Insect pests and diseases of different crops like rice, ginger, chilly and citrus fruits etc. were thoroughly explained by the scientists of the KVK during the session.

Chemicals were distributed to the farmers as per their pests and disease problems.

76 farmers attended the technical session.

Similar programme will be conducted in nine other villages of the district.

ASHAs play critical role in bridging gap between communities and NHM: Dr. Padung

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) play a critical and effective role in bridging the gap between communities and NHM. It is, therefore, very important to keep them motivated to perform their duties efficiently, said State Nodal Officer, National Health Mission (NHM) Dr. D Padung while inaugurating a restroom for them (ASHAs) at Community Health Centre, Kimin yesterday.

He stressed on the need of restroom for ASHAs in every PHC and CHC.

He also emphasised on effective implementation of Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) and constitution of Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committee at every village.

District Medical Officer (Papum Pare) Dr. S Ronya also explained the roles and responsibilities of ASHAs, who represent the cornerstones of the National Health Mission’s strategies. They play a vital role in community mobilisation to improve health status, access service and promote community participation in health programmes, said Dr. Ronya.

The Dr. J. Ado, District Reproductive & Child Health Officer, advised all the ASHAs and ASHA facilitators of Kimin CHC to work in a missionary zeal and co-operate with the ANM, Anganwadi and other health workers for strengthening healthcare service delivery.

Dagyir Esse, State Community Mobilizer, advised the ASHAs and ASHA Facilitator to properly utilise the Restroom and keep it clean. She also informed various incentives that ASHAs are entitled to.

Dr.R Ronya, IDSP Officer, Dr. Tania Raju, District ASHA Nodal Officer, Dr. Tana Aruna, Medical Officer in-charge, Kimin PHC, all the staff of the PHC, ASHAs and ASHA facilitators were present during the function.

Simai launches PMKVY in Jairampur

JAIRAMPUR, Aug 22: Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), a flagship scheme of the centre for skill training of youth was launched here by the BJP MLA Laisam Simai.

The programme was organised by PMKVY training partner ACCESS – IT Education Academy (Units of BLC Trust), at Ongle Sapolo Hall.

“It is a wonderful opportunity pioneered by the Prime Minster Narendra Modi and I hope all our school dropouts and unemployed youths are transformed into skilled workforce through this programme,” Simai said.

ACCESS – IT Education Academy (Units of BLC Trust), Jairampur, a training partner of ANTS Consulting & Service Private Limited, Bangalore will be conducting PMKVY training programme in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh for Healthcare, BFSI, Retail, IT/ITES/, Media & Entertainment and Gems & Jewellery sector.

“For the current training session, the agency has already enrolled 40 youths from Jairampur and 147 youths from Miao to train them as General Duty Assistant (Basic healthcare course) under Healthcare sector, informed the director of the firm Chandan Prasad.

“PMKVY has been implemented by the new Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). For training of youths from the North-east region, an allocation of Rs 150 crore has been made,” Prasad informed.

“This skill certification and reward scheme aims to enable and mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood. Under the scheme, monetary reward would be provided to trainees who are successfully trained, assessed and certified in skill courses run by affiliated training providers,” he added.

ZPM Tusam Longri, ADC Kento Riba, VKV Principal and CHC I/Charge also shared their views with the 40 trainees and the students from VKV School.

Programme on Drugs De-Addiction and Gender Sensitisation

YINGKIONG, Aug 22: Parliamentary Secretary, PWD, Alo Libang has called upon the youth to equip themselves with the knowledge imparted on Drugs De-Addiction and Gender Sensitization. He was speaking at the daylong programme for awareness on Drugs De-Addiction/Gender Sensitization and inter-tribe cultural competition under SC/ST Intervention organised at Yingkiong on Aug 18 last. Libang also asked the students to devote themselves in studies and to lead the society.

Addressing the gathering at the multi-purpose hall Yingkiong, DC Upper Siang, Remo Kamki, emphasised on the importance of the daylong programme and advised the younger generation to learn keenly from such programmes.

District Coordinator SSA, Norbu Tsering briefed the aims and objectives and importance of the programme. Various resource persons deliberated on Drugs De-Addiction and Gender Sensitization. Among others SC/ST Coordinator Upper Siang, TC Medhi, also spoke on the occasion.

Local MLA Libang also gave away the prizes for the cultural competition held in the evening. The first prize for the traditional group dance event was bagged by Mariyang Cultural Troupe, second prize by Tuting Cultural Troupe and Yingkiong Cultural Troupe bagged the third prize. In the group dance event, Yingkiong Cultural Troup bagged the first prize, Tuting Cultural Troupe got the second and Jengging Cultural Troupe bagged the third prize. A total of six cultural troupes from all over the district participated in the cultural competition.
